San Antonio Estate Sales Company

Estate sale bargains abound. There are many common items needed by most households that are nearly always a great buy at an estate sale.

And don’t just think about the present day. Think about holidays and special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) coming up.

Here’s what to look for:

Spices. Most estate sales have tons of spices and many are nearly full or unopened. Some of these can be very expensive in the stores! Pay attention to expiration dates, but just open it and sniff. If it still has a nice aroma, then they’re still good.
Holiday Decorations. Not only Christmas but Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day, 4th of July. And the further away from the holiday it is, the cheaper they sell. Be on the lookout for some of the vintage pieces which are HOT right now.

Gift Wrap, Ribbons, Bows, Tissue Paper. These often sell for pennies on the dollar. Gift boxes and wine bags, greeting cards, and wedding and party decorations are also great bargains at estate sales.

Clothes and Shoes. If you can find something you like and in your size, it’s probably going to have a very affordable price. Coats and jackets can be bargains as well as gloves, hats, and scarfs.

Kids Toys. Even though these are estate sales, often grandparents have had toys and kids furniture at their homes. Stuffed toys and beanie babies are bargains as well. Vintage or antique toys may be pricey, but if you’re looking for some entertainment for the kids, you’re in the right place.

Hand Tools. Screwdrivers, hammers, garden implements, scissors, nail clippers, dog clippers are all generally great deals at estate sales. Be alert for some of the higher-end tools such as Sears Craftsman which offers new replacements and high end cutting tools such as manicure scissors that can be $15 – $20 in the store and often are only $1- $2 at estate sales.

Office Supplies. Paper, pens, folders, binders, paper cutters, hole punches, staplers, and scissors are more great estate sale bargains. Colored paper, legal pads, and envelopes are great deals as well.

Books. If you’re willing to look through and find something you like, it will likely be at a bargain price. Cookbooks are another great estate sale bargain. Collectible or first edition books will of course be more expensive but if you’re just looking for something to read, an estate sale is a great place to stock up.

Cookware and Baking Pans. Everyday cookware and all types of cake pans, cookie sheets, cupcake pans, Pyrex dishes, and Corning ware should be priced very reasonably at an estate sale.

Craft Items. Usually, these are by the box or bag and are priced at a fraction of their original cost. Paints, brushes, needlework supplies, jewelry supplies, scrapbooking items – you name it! People spend a fortune of crafts so if you can use some of it, you’re in luck.

Estate Sale Glassware Plain or Fancy and Coffee Mugs
Coffee mugs are plentiful at estate sales. Be on the lookout for vintage or older advertising mugs.

Healthier Teeth

Crooked teeth can cause an awkward bite and can provide spaces for bacteria to accumulate and proliferate which can lead to cavities, tooth loss, and periodontal problems. Aside from the obvious aesthetic benefits of straightening your teeth, Invisalign can also alleviate problems caused by misaligned teeth such as jaw strain, trauma to bones and joints of mastication, chipping, grinding, and uneven or abnormal wear on teeth.

Robust Gum Tissue

Crooked or misaligned teeth can have a negative impact on the overall health of the gum tissues that support them. Teeth can even become loose and leave a “pocket” where bacteria or food particles can become trapped and invite gum disease and tooth decay. Crowded teeth can also cause gum tissue to become painful, red, and swollen which can cause a wide variety of problems from tooth loss to gingivitis.

A Cleaner Mouth

The Invisalign patients at our office are able to remove their Invisalign aligners in order to eat, drink, brush, and floss. The end result is a cleaner mouth with Invisalign when compared to those treated with traditional braces. Braces have been knowing to trap food in hard-to-reach places and also to be difficult to adequately clean. Invisalign eliminates all of the hindrances that are commonly associated with orthodontic braces. We provide the expert Invisalign service that allows our patients to keep their teeth, gums, and mouths cleaner than with traditional metal braces thus preventing more cavities, mouth sores, bad breath, and tooth loss overall.invisalin treatment

Total Health Benefits of Invisalign

Several scientific studies have confirmed what dental professionals have surmised for decades: a person’s oral health has a strong positive correlation with their overall health. In a landmark study conducted by the American Dental Association, researchers found that oral infections can contribute to far more serious medical conditions including heart disease, pneumonia, diabetes, and cerebrovascular disease or stroke. Invisalign orthodontic aligners allow patients to remove them for the continuance of a good oral hygiene routine thus decreasing the likelihood of cavities and oral infections that could possibly lead or contribute to more serious health conditions.

The straightening of crooked or misaligned teeth can also help to eliminate additional conditions such as chronic headaches, jaw strain or tension, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, difficulties eating or speaking.

Your Kids Need Not Worry In Our Pediatric Office

Your Kids Need Not Worry In Our Pediatric Office

Our practice understands that the dental visit can potentially be intimidating to children, especially a child’s first visit. Recognizing this and understanding what contributes to your child’s fear allows you to help your child feel better about the experience overall. Let’s take a look at what children fear when a visit to the pediatric dentist office approaches and how to enhance your a child’s dental visit experience.pediatric dentist

• Rule No. 1 – Never try to trick your child about a dentist office visit. Children are often quite a bit sharper than we think. These days they watch television, and navigate computers and the internet as well as, or even better than we do. You may want to explain to them what to expect in simple terms or show them a cartoon experience for them to visualize what to expect.

• Be a good role model– Children learn more from watching others than most anything else. If you are fearful of your turn in the dentist chair, then your child will likely be scared as well. Never be anxious on behalf of your children.

• Fear of pain – Fearing pain is natural, and it is also natural to want to avoid pain. Never use words like needle, shot or pull. These words will only heighten a child’s fear, instead say sleepy juice or wiggle.

• Choosing the best child dentist – The welcome that you receive when you walk into the dentist’s office can make all the difference. It is important to choose a competent pediatric dentist that has a genuine love for children and males a genuine effort to make your child comfortable.

• Managing uncertainty– Children, just like adults, get scared when they are unsure as to what is happening or what is going to happen next. Be sure to take the time to discuss things honestly and openly with your child, so that you can work through their apprehensions and misgivings. Make an effort to discover your child’s particular concerns. They may have seen a movie or heard a horror story about the dentist from a friend—these things can be very real and frightening to them.

• Make it fun – A dentist’s chair and all of their other equipment can look scary, so let your child see and touch the equipment. The way you approach a pediatric dental visit can be the difference between the experience being horrible or pleasant. These tips can help you and your child have the best dental visit possible.
