San Antonio Estate Sales Company
Estate sale bargains abound. There are many common items needed by most households that are nearly always a great buy at an estate sale.
And don’t just think about the present day. Think about holidays and special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) coming up.
Here’s what to look for:
Spices. Most estate sales have tons of spices and many are nearly full or unopened. Some of these can be very expensive in the stores! Pay attention to expiration dates, but just open it and sniff. If it still has a nice aroma, then they’re still good.
Holiday Decorations. Not only Christmas but Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day, 4th of July. And the further away from the holiday it is, the cheaper they sell. Be on the lookout for some of the vintage pieces which are HOT right now.
Gift Wrap, Ribbons, Bows, Tissue Paper. These often sell for pennies on the dollar. Gift boxes and wine bags, greeting cards, and wedding and party decorations are also great bargains at estate sales.
Clothes and Shoes. If you can find something you like and in your size, it’s probably going to have a very affordable price. Coats and jackets can be bargains as well as gloves, hats, and scarfs.
Kids Toys. Even though these are estate sales, often grandparents have had toys and kids furniture at their homes. Stuffed toys and beanie babies are bargains as well. Vintage or antique toys may be pricey, but if you’re looking for some entertainment for the kids, you’re in the right place.
Hand Tools. Screwdrivers, hammers, garden implements, scissors, nail clippers, dog clippers are all generally great deals at estate sales. Be alert for some of the higher-end tools such as Sears Craftsman which offers new replacements and high end cutting tools such as manicure scissors that can be $15 – $20 in the store and often are only $1- $2 at estate sales.
Office Supplies. Paper, pens, folders, binders, paper cutters, hole punches, staplers, and scissors are more great estate sale bargains. Colored paper, legal pads, and envelopes are great deals as well.
Books. If you’re willing to look through and find something you like, it will likely be at a bargain price. Cookbooks are another great estate sale bargain. Collectible or first edition books will of course be more expensive but if you’re just looking for something to read, an estate sale is a great place to stock up.
Cookware and Baking Pans. Everyday cookware and all types of cake pans, cookie sheets, cupcake pans, Pyrex dishes, and Corning ware should be priced very reasonably at an estate sale.
Craft Items. Usually, these are by the box or bag and are priced at a fraction of their original cost. Paints, brushes, needlework supplies, jewelry supplies, scrapbooking items – you name it! People spend a fortune of crafts so if you can use some of it, you’re in luck.
Estate Sale Glassware Plain or Fancy and Coffee Mugs
